29 Buckingham Street, Cambridge Sept. 24, 1905 Messrs. N. J. Bartlett + co. Dear sirs Authors as they grow old, are apt to find their houses overflowing with books + have to thin them out; at least I often do. I have a copy of Masson’s Life of Milton, the most elaborate of all books on the subject. It is in six vols. 8vo, in the original binding, uncut, and with the author’s autograph in the last three vols. This I wish to sell for $12. A copy of the [page break] same vols. In ½ morocco, but without the author's autograph, was sold at an auction in 1902 for $10.50 Would you like to purchase this? Truly yours Thomas Wentworth Higginson
